Kotohira Ujiko Festival
Date: Oct. 1st~2nd.
Location: From Konpira stone steps to the shopping street area.
Ujigami is a guardian god or spirit of a particular place in Japan. Ujiko is the person who worships the Ujigami in those particular place. In Kotohira, those ujikos always host a festival called Ujiko Festival on Oct. 1st to 2nd. They build a huge sedan chair for Ujigami they worshipped and compete with other ujikos by hitting other sedan chairs every year. You could see those awesome fights in close range, don't miss it!!
